Thank you!

We can hardly find proper words to express our gratitude to the people, who help us to save our child - beloved only one - from death.
Thanks to all people who wish to be with us, to help us with anything they can - to give our children their blood, money, medications, holiday presents, personal concern, pray, just with kind words!..

The existence of this page became possible due to the director of the Simferopol Internet-cafe "Ursus Major" - Roman A.Dunajcev. After he has read in a newspaper about our children, he has offered us an opportunity to use Internet and helped with the design of this site. We are grateful from the very heart to all the stuff of the "Ursus Major" who have offered us their assistance and keep helping us with this site.

GIFTS FROM THE WISE MEN

"At Christmas, we are all, to some extent, wise men" (Josef Brodsky)

* Anna from Moscow has for the third year running bought our children New Year presents and sends them to Simferopol with the train conductors. This time, she sent 40 big boxes of sweets (this was more than enough for everyone!) Anna also sent a special present for Ivan Kvashnitsky: a CD player and a collection of CDs with fairytales and children's' songs.

* Another present for Ivan (sweets, chocolates and a cuddly toy), sent by Olga Vershinina from Kharkiv. Olga and her family congratulated us on the New Year with an electronic postcard.

* We received 50 Christmas gifts from the Foundation of Humanitarian Initiatives (Simferopol) and the Mission "Samarians' Help". Each gift, packed into a large shoebox, has been prepared by either an English or an American family as a present for a Ukrainian child. Thus each present is different and unique.

* The Foundation of Humanitarian Initiatives also gave 60 feeding-vessels for bed-patients at our Department.

* 15 thousand Ukrainian Hryvnias (about 3,000 $) have been donated for Dima Drobitko to buy medicine, by "Black-Sea-Oil-and-Gas", the company where Dima's mother works. This will be enough to get approximately half of the necessary medicines.

* 150 Hryvnias for Dima Drobitko were transferred to our bank account by Pavlovs family from the town of Brovary.

* Anna from Moscow (a different one!) has bought and sent to Simferopol 6 bottles of Factor-VIII for Artem Grishenko.

* 580 $ were sent for the Department's needs (purchase of medicines and disposable material, preparation for the New Year) by our Canadian friends, who do not want to make their names public.

* Another 200 $ were sent by Andrew from New York: 60 $ to be spent on medicines for Chemotherapy for Vladimir Rodionov, 30 $ - on Christmas/New-Year presents for Michael Norenko and Dan Poddubny (30 $ each), 80 $ - on the Department's needs. According to Andrew, he collected this money with the help of a Nigerian student, who wanted to stay anonymous, and Craims family.

* 23,000 Roubles that were transferred to the bank account of Reverend Alexander Menn Charity Foundation for Dan Poddubny (we wrote about it in our previous news issue), have been spent on Sandimmun. The medication will be delivered to Dan's family in Sevastopol in the very near future.

* * *

The people due to whom we have Internet access for already three years - the management and the employees of the Internet-cafe "Ursus Major" connected to the Internet first computer at our department. The connection has been made through a radio-modem, thanks to the provider "Simfi.net". We had to pay only the cost of the equipment. Everything else, including the Internet time, is free.

MANY THANKS TO YOU, FRIENDS!

Joyful news - from Amsterdam:

"On September 19, 2001 our fund asked company Priority Telecom for sponsorship. This company is doing business in telecommunications, and its headquarters is in Amsterdam. The administration of Priority Telecom replied positively to our realest and gave us 1000 Holland holders. This money will be used to buy medicaments for sick children at the Department of Hematology of the Crimean Republican Children's Hospital."
( http://www.russischkind.nl/ru/acties_frm_ru.html )

Sergy and Carina from the fund "Save Russian child" promise to send this money before the New Year. They also are planning a Christmas exposition and fair of the works of our children.

* * *

We are grateful to the CMS mission, which gave us a grant this year - to buy a computer ($1000) and medicaments ($1000), and also to pay salary to the accountant.

* * *

Another money transfer is received from the Pavlov family (city of Brovary) - 100 grivnas ( $20) for the treatment of Alexy Gustenko.

* * *

We thank Bruce Little from the U.S.A. for another parcel - one hundred of 2-gram capsules of anti-biotics piperociline!

* * *

On November 29 D.S. from Russia has sent us $850 for our children's treatment. $350 from this money are for the medicaments for Daniil Poddubny. The remaining 500 $ will be used very soon to buy medicaments for particular children at our department.

* * *

On November 28, 2001 we received a letter from the charity group named after Fr. Alexander Men; they work with patients of the Moscow republican children's hospital. In their WebPages they also had a banner about Daniil Poddubny, and some day they received 23,000 Russian rubles (about $800), from someone who did not realize that Daniil lives in Ukraine. Galina Chalikova, the charity group's coordinator, is asking now what medicaments shall they buy for this money, and send to Daniil.

* * *

THE FUNDS HAS BEEN RAISED FOR DANIIL PODDUBNY !

People all around the globe reacted to the desperate request of parents of Daniil, the boy from Sebastopol. Having called the Daniil's family, Mikhail sent $60 from Russia and Andrew Vustyanyuk sent $600 from New-York. Andrew asked permission to regularly phone and ask about Daniil's health.

Moreover, Tatiana Poddubnaya, Daniil's mother, told us that the city council of Sebastopol gave them cyclosporine (sandimmune), which will be enoough for 4 months of therapy; they promised yet 4 packs to be issued soon.

Tatiana and Anatolij are unspeakably grateful to all who was not indifferent to their son's disaster.

* * *

Medicaments for the second protocol for Fera Alieva have been acquired by the Crimean Center of medical help for deported nations.

* * *

Our anonymous Canadian friends sent us $744 for the treatment of Daniil Poddubny. With this money, we will be able to buy a part of the necessary medicaments. Thank you, friends! Anatoly and Tatiana, Daniil's parents, are deeply grateful to you!

* * *

We thank all of you who helped to raise funds for buying Intron-A for the hepatitis treatment of Eugene Mitrofanov! With the help of the web-master Paul Grinberg we have managed to collect he necessary money for buying this medicament.

* * *

In the august, our continuous helper and friend D.S. from Moscow (whose name is anonymous), again sent us money for our childrens' treatment!

* * *

Three times during the last months we have received money transfers from O.O. and N. A. Pavlov family from Brovary! The total sum is 600 grivnas (about $120). Apparently, they find out about our needs from the news in this page. We subscribe to the opinion of our accountant Ekaterina: "Thanks God for Pavlov's"!

* * *

During August 15-20, 2001, we had a guest from Netherlands. Several months ago, by efforts of two "Russian Dutchmen", Sergey Moiseev and Carina Dushikjan, there was established in Amsterdam the fund "Save a Russian Child!" The money collected during the first action was decided to be handed in for the treatment of the children in our department. Sergey Moiseev himself came to us to Simferopol and brought $2,720 with him.
How wonderful it is when in a distant country people gather with the common aim to help those who are in trouble here!

* * *

On 6 July we’ve got 250 hryvnias (about 45$) on our new bank account from Oleg Pavlov from Brovara town for Michael Norenko.

* * *

And Andrei Vustyanyuk has transferred money for Michael Norenko for the second time. He told about his friend Robert, who is a doctor, about Michael, and Robert decided to transfer $500 for Michael. Robert knows from a child, what it means to help somebody who’s in trouble. During the Second World War Robert, a Jewish boy, was hidden by a peasant family in the alpine village, they passed him off as one of their relatives. He learnt after the War, that the whole the village knew who he was, but nobody gave him away.

Andrei has added $100 to this amount and paid for remittance by means of WESTERN UNION.

* * *

Anna from Moscow, who constantly helps our children, handed on $1000 for Michael Norenko with the train conductor.

* * *

Andrei Vustyanyuk, who is originally from Odessa and currently working in New-York, has transferred $ 600 for Michael Norenko. “We can’t just let the disease take life of a twelve-year old child!” – he wrote in his letter.

* * *

Alexander Volodimirovich, currently living in Ireland, has sent a letter to Larisa Grishenko in which he offered to do what he can to help Artyem Grishenko, and than he transferred 250 dollars to foreign currency bank account for Artyem.

* * *

As we already mentioned in the last news issue, a person called Vasily has purchased 11 bottles of ‘Koyeit-DVI’ (Factor 8) for 29 000 roubles for Artyem Grishenko. Vasily got this medicine from the distributor company: LIFE FACTOR at a price of 88 dollars 20 cents for a bottle; Vasily paid for the delivery of the medicine to the train as well. Artyem’s parents in Simferopol has already got it.

* * *

An expensive medicine, ZEMEVEN, was bought for Alexander Shtilik by one of the Sevastopol companies!

* * *

On the eve of 1 June the readers of the Children's Republic Magazine 'Krymusha' (where the stories about our children, their drawings and poems were published) have gathered money for our hematological department. So on the received money (107 grv.=$20) and on the money sent by D.S. we have at once bought Laferon for Mishael Norenko.

* * *

Our faithful anonymous sponsor D.S. has sent $650 for the needs of the department and $50 for the Alifanovs family (their request is put in the division THEY ALSO NEED HELP).

* * *

We are grateful to all those who have helped us to collect presents for celebrating the Day of the Healthy Child - gifts for our present patients and those who have already left the department! Our gratitude

- to those who have sent in general 353 grv. (around $65) on the account of Parents' Initiative. This money was used to buy candies to the children;

- to D.S. who have sent us again a financial aid (see below for details); $100 of this sum was spent on fruit and small books for kids;

- to the Crimean Foundation of Humanitarian Initiatives who have presented us 100 "speaking" clocks (though they are toys, they show an actual time) and 90 jars of apple juice and tined peaches.

THANK YOU once again!

* * *

Irina Gorodnyanskaya, kievian musician and composer, had organized a charitable exhibitions of our children’s drawings at protestant churches in Kiev. At the end of April 2001 she delivered donation ($ 210 and 10 grivnas)to us. May the lord help you, brothers and sisters!

* * *

We’ve received a parcel from Bruce Little (USA) and oncology doctor James Rusthoven (Canada) with drastic antibiotics: piperacilinum (150 bottles) and ceftriacson (70 packages). The total value of the drags amounted to $ 2500. That means saved lives of our children; they are priceless!

* * *

Our deepest gratitude and regards to all Christians who are praying for our children! Did you know that in the Russian Internet, in Rev. Andrei Kuraev's Forum there are such prayers as "A prayer on agreement" and "The names for a prayer by the Forum's Brotherhood".. This web-site is frequently visited by many orthodox and non-orthodox people, who pray for those people whose names they find in there. And our children's names are among them! If you would like to join this prayer, we would be very happy and grateful to you!

* * *

An anonymous friend has sent us $270 to buy 10 bottles of citozar for Sergey Ibragimov.

* * *

D.S. from Moscow has sent $250 more in addition to what he had sent previously. The money sent before was intended in general for the purchase of medicines, the present sum was sent for the several purposes:

- $50 - for Nina Yemurlaeva's treatment and board

- $200 - for the eyes-operation for Tanya Michajlichenko, whose request was on our site in the Russian division "THEY ALSO NEED HELP". A week ago Tanya was back from Kiev, where she had the operation of laser cauterization of retina. The operation was successful. The girl's eyesight has got better and is still improving

* * *

Since the beginning of the year we have received three deposits on our account: 5, 20 and 100 grivnas (which equals about $1, $4 and $20). We think, it was the result of the publication of our children's poems and drawings in the magazine "Crymusha".

* * *

$900 was sent by Ms Kimberly (USA) for those who need anti-leucosis treatment.

* * *

 100 grivnas (around $20) was given for the needs of the department by Alica Merzljakova from Simferopol. Mrs. Merzljakova knows what cancer is not through hearsay. A few years ago she has lost one of the members of the family...

* * *

WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS GIFTS SENT BY:

- Anna from Moscow - she responded first!
- S. Kunitsyn, Head of Top Council of the Crimea;
- The party of ... (definitely NOT the Communist party);
- Olga Stepanova from Amsterdam, who apart from helping us with translating the site into English, also sent assembling models and puzzles for different age groups for our Department's playing room!
- David Hallowell and his Mission, who sent our children presents (in huge boxes), which were arranged by English Christian families for Ukrainian children.

* * *

THANK YOU FOR THE MONEY:

- Natalie Moroz from Sevastopol = 200 Ukrainian Hryvnias (about $ 50);
- Oleg and Maria Mityaevs from Kiev = 500 Ukrainian Hryvnias (about $ 100);
- Irina Kuzina from Russia = $ 300;
- D.S. from Moscow = $ 650

* * *

Natasha Pshenina and her husband Vladimir from Sevastopol donated $ 100 for the needs of our Department.

* * *

Anna from Moscow has bought 20 bottles of Dispheral for Sultanie Ibragimova.

* * *

It is not for the first time that Yuri Bolshakov, Head of Pheodosia Commercial Port, has helped our children. Previously he was donating money for the treatment of Lera Yerdiakova (you can find her paintings in our Painting Gallery). This time he has put 5,000 Hryvnias (about $ 900) on our account for Mustafa Mustafaev.

* * *

David Hellowel, a missionary, has passed to our children 60 bottles of apple juice, as well as some drugs: Rynatan and Tussi-Organidin. Tussi-Organidin helped to extend Veronica Zadyrko's life for another 2 weeks. It looked like we had some hope at that point…

* * *

Flora D. Higgins and Cay Martin, who visited our department in the middle of October, sent us the second portion of medicine supply: the antibiotic Cephalosporin, Panadol for children, as well as baby food, which is necessary not only to feed our smallest patients but also for those children who suffer stomatitis as a complication after chemotherapy. In these case liquid food is irreplaceable. For example right now there is a patient with such a need in the department (see below).

* * *

The Zhenya’s Mitrofanovfamily are very grateful to a Crimean company Soyuz-Viktan for $ 1,000, which they have paid for the medicine necessary for Zhenya to enter remission. They are also grateful to an anonymous donator who after having read an article about Zhenya in a local newspaper, sent as much as he/she could (about $ 30).

* * *

Whenever Paul’s Alubaev parents and we ask Father Dominick who is paying for the boy’s treatment, Father Dominick determinedly keeps silent. However, in a telephone conversation with the Italian clinics we discovered that the payment would be made by the Vatican. In fact it will be not just a fixed amount of money, but the donator is willing to cover the full treatment that the boy will need. The clinics will arrange a specialist to keep contact with the donor.

* * *

On 10th November our department was visited by a representative of CMS Mission, which has been contributing to the treatment of our children now and again for the last 3 years. The main goal of Rev. Mark Oxbrow’s visit, as one of Mission directors in charge of European operations, was to get to know the specific character of the work of our department and to see our difficulties and problems in reality. He promised that CMS Mission would carry on supporting the Parents’ Initiative.

Bless you, brothers and sisters!

* * *

Issue number 16 of the main Crimean children’s magazine “Krymusha” has been published. A two-page spread is dedicated to an article about our department, as well as paintings, poems and stories by our patients and their parents. The initiative and its implementation are entirely the result of a Crimean writer Svetlana Yagupova, Chief Editor of the “Krymusha”. Not only did Svetlana Yagupova want to appeal to the readers to help children with leukaemia, she also decided to start at home, donating as much as she can. Our deepest gratitude to you! If everyone who will read about our sons and daughters will make an independent decision and give our children something small, then these small things altogether will turn into something great: the saved lives of our children.

* * *

Another request has been heard. We have asked for assistance in translating Russian website texts into English. Three translators have already got down to work: Natalia Orlenko from Simpheropol, Ekaterina Kolossova (currently studying in the USA) and Olga Stepanova from Amsterdam. Thanks to the electronic mail, the communication between different countries and continents is really easy. Therefore we hope that in the nearest future we will be able to arrange the English version of our site.

* * *

Our Department was visited by several guests. The first guest was James Rusthoven, a Canadian oncologist. He and the doctors discussed in detail the peculiarities of treatment and therapeutic protocols. On the next day, the Department was visited by two American women – Flora D. Higgins, a member of a charity mission, and Cay Martin, President of Line-Life Int. (a company dealing with the translation and publication of books). They handed vitamin mixtures and 160 boxes of the antibiotic-cephalosporin for our patients.

The American guests very much appreciated the needlework made by the children from our Department. What they found particularly amazing was the embroidery, which is made equally by both the boys and girls, as well as their mothers. Flora D. Higgins said she would find out whether it would be possible to organise a charity fair in America, representing the needlework of the Crimean children suffering from leukaemia. That would be a wonderful thing!

* * *

In October we received the next grant from CMS Mission via Rev. Mark OXBROW, one of its directors, who is in charge of the Mission’s European operations. The actual purpose of this donation ($ 2,250) was as follows.

We are extremely grateful to the Mission and Mark Oxbrow for their constant concern for our calamity.For three years the Department has been receiving help from CMS.

* * *

We are also very grateful to Robert Matsken, a Dutch citizen, who has sent $ 160 to the Fund of Assistance to Medical Specialists.

* * *

A Second Hand shop, owned by the Evangelic Christian Churches of Simpheropol, has, on several occasions, provided us with special medical uniforms for our doctors and nurses, including some brand new outfits. Now the Department looks very colourful: it is a combination of traditional white and colours of the western health care system, such as pink, blue and green.

* * *

One of the next issues of a Crimean children’s magazine, “Krymusha”, will include stories, poems and paintings by our children, as well as an article about them and their needs. The initiative and its implementation are entirely the result of a Crimean writer Svetlana Yagupova, Chief Editor of the “Krymusha”. Not only did Svetlana Vladimirovna want to appeal to the readers to help children with leukaemia, she also decided to start at home, donating as much as she can. Our deepest gratitude to you! If everyone who will read about our sons and daughters will make an independent decision and give our children something small, then these small things altogether will turn into something great: the saved lives of our children.

* * *

We want to say thank you to all our friends and brothers who help us in arranging this site. Here are the names of these people: Alexandr and Elena Buklerskie, Dmitry Golubenko, Inga Chistjakova, Julia Vjal'ceva, Ol'ga Byval'ceva, Natalja Orlenko, Tatjana Volkova (the system administrator of the Internet-cafe, who is always ready to spend her time helping us in our computer and language ignorance), Julia Sirota (the designer)… We apologize if we've missed any name.

* * *

Svetlana Panich and Sergey Kokurin from Kiev keep helping Sergey Borovik. They have sent him medicines: alkeran and unacin. They have also send medical equipment to our department.

* * *

We are grateful to the catholic priests of the Dominican order, to the father Angey Belyat from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in Yalta, and to the father Dominic! Thanks to their help we were able to find contacts with the Italian specialists - hematologists and pediatrics. They are ready to take Sergey and other children to one of the Italian clinics - even before the remission starts. The whole course of treatment, including transportation, hospital fees, donors, and operation, makes $41.000 (to compare: in the USA and Israel it costs $100.000 and more). But this is still a huge sum for us, which makes the major difficulty. So we keep looking…

* * *

Our department has received a humanitarian help from Germany, from Dr. Fridrichs (Bonn) and the organization "Johannite - Unfallhilfe": antibiotics, chemiomedicaments. We send our greatest gratitude to the German doctors and sponsors!

* * *

By the July 21, 2000 there were $500 in the fond of the "Parents' Initiative" - the rest of the money received from Dmitry S., Moscow. We have planned to use this money to buy antibiotics for our hematological department, but both times it turned out to be impossible to buy the medicines at decreased prices… May be, it was meant to be this way - so that money remained up to this day. $350 were used for Sergey Borovik's treatment in the course of preparing him for the repeated marrow transplantation; and $150 were given for the treatment of Anya Karpova.
WE WANT TO THANK YOU, DMITRY, ONE MORE TIME !

* * *

We have received from the US, from Dr. Bruice Little 20 flasks of the anibiotic ceftriakson.

* * *

The student of the Crimean medical university, Mustafa, who was on practice in our hematological department, has payed the plasmaforez for 8-years-old Natasha Lobaz, who has a hemmoragia

* * *

The actors from America with our friend Tom Benc have visited the department with the performance of the puppet theatre.

* * *

On the eve of the Holiday of the Trinity the department received as a present 75 kg of closes from "Second Hand" shops: 50 kg came from the Fond of Humanitarian Initiatives, and 25 kg - from the shop of the cheap closing belonging to one of the Reformatory churches in Simferopol. It helped to provide the patients, their family members and the stuff of the department with some necessary things. Thank you for the help!

* * *

On July 1 we have received a present from Anna (Moscow) who has bben helping us a number of times already. This time she has sent us $300.

* * *

Some of the money sent by D. S. from Moscow was used to buy 4 flasks of the anthibiotic kosmegen for Olya Yarmol'chuk. It cost $140.

* * *

We have one more Internet address! Thanks to all kind people, masters of server "Charity-Russia"! They mastered one more page for our site. They are REAL MASTERS, believe us. So, for many of our friends it would be much easy to open our site. Hurray!
http://www.init.blago.ru/

* * *

We have got a present for Passover. Anonomous citizen of Moscow sent $ 1000 for purchasing medications. We immediately started to solve urgent tasks: $ 45 were given for Volodya Khachaturan's treatment; $ 200 were marked for Dima Zagryzly. In the nearest future, actually, in some days the rest will be spent for another personal support - purchase of antibiotics for the department. Thanks to everybody!

* * *

WE WANT TO SAY MANY THANKS TO:

- Thomas Bents (USA), who has sent money for the department's needs;

- Victoria Doroshenko (Kiev), who transferred to the account of the department 300 grivnas - support for Volodya Khachaturan (April 12).

* * *

We received medications! We received 100 bottles of antibiotics Cephalosporyn, 4th generation (total sum - $ 5 000). They were sent from America. The medication was bought and shipped to Simferopol by efforts of Professor of Medicine of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, professor Jeff Williamson and Doctor of Divinity, Reverend Bruce Little.

* * *

Crimean community "Evlad", with its head, the father of our ex-patient, Lenur Memetov, delivered to the department a pack of vitamins "Unicap", given by the firm "Pharmacea Clinics".

* * *

Military organization where the father of Kolya Martynuk works gave a financial help for the boy's treatment.

We bow low to all people who help our children to stay alive.

* * *

Thanks to all people, who could make for our children a nice real holiday during New Year and Christmas-2000!

* * *

On the 6th of January, on Christmas Eve, there was a small Christian celebration in the department - the story about Christmas. The happening was organized by Christians of three different confessions: Orthodox, Evangelical and Charismatic.

* * *

On the 5th of January the department was visited by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, S. Kunitsyn. His main present exceeded our hopes and was really LIVES, GIVEN AS A GIFT. The guest knowing about critical situation with sets for trombocytes mass transfusion, transferred 10 thousand Grivnas to pay the Custom taxes for those sets.

* * *

Holidays brought a lot of fun to the department!

On December 28 the holiday for our children was made with the help of their parents and hospital medical men. The leader, organizer and star of the performance was a brilliant professional and our old and kind friend Clown Tolyan.

On the 29th the department was visited by officials from the Government. Surely they brought Santa Claus and presents.

On the 30th there was The party for the whole hospital. Our children can not leave the department, but when the actors finished the big performance in the hospital assembly hall, they went up to the hematological department!

* * *

We had a lot of problems with New Year presents for our children this year. But like a miracle they appeared in the department - and they were even too many!..
HERE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE PRESENTS FOR THE CHILDREN OF HEMATOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT:
- Anna from Moscow. She knew us from Internet, and helps us very often;
- Shabelnik, the mother of the child who took the treatment in the department last year (she buys presents for our children during two years already).
- officials of the hospital purchased present for all the children of the Republican Children Clinics;
- on the 29th of December the presents were sent by the Deputes of the Supreme Council of the ARC;
- on the 5th of January the department was visited by Chairman of Council of Ministers of the Crimea Sergei Kunitsyn - and he had a lot of presents too!
- the parents also did their best - they gathered money, they found money on the account; to cut the long story short, it was enough money for sweets and for toys as well!

A LETTER FROM KIEV

Date: Ñð, 22 äåê 1999 15:55:40
To: koordinator of PARENTS' INITIATIVE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rejoice, Gene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a miracle!!!
Now I have e-mail message lying in front of me. This letter says that our anonymous friend who has been hesitating to name herself, informs us that she transferred 5 thousand dollars for SERGEI BOROVIK treatment. Tomorrow morning his mother and me is going to have this money. I can hardly say something - I have no words. I am sitting and crying of happiness. First time in my life, in real life but not the kind fiction book, I met Christmas miracle. This year we shall have a real Christmas, because "God is born when a hand is giving a piece of bread!" Now I see this hand with my own eyes. Jesus is born, and He is with us now.
P.S. Our anonymous friend's name is Jesse Daub.

* * *

On December 5 our account has a new income - 20 Grivnas for the treatment of Sergy Borovik. A person who sent this money did not tell his name. WE WANT TO SEND SPECIAL THANKS TO THIS PERSON! Thanks for understanding the fact that our children hope mainly not for the help of one wealthy person. We believe that more real is to wait a small help - just few grivnas, rubles, dollars - but obtained from EVERYONE, who has read the call for help!

* * *

On the 16th of November the department was visited by the representative of All American mission "Least of These", Tom Benz. He was accompanied with two American women, Shirley and Margaret and young couple from SAR, Frederick and Sakina. The talk was rather concrete, the opportunity to ship to "Parents' Initiative" the container with medical aid has been discussed. There were suggested very short terms, which should be discussed in details in two weeks.

* * *

Pharmaceutical firm "Martana" (Simferopol) started a cooperation with "Parents' Initiative". Martana helps us to buy any medications with discount. Thanks ever so much!

* * *

THANKS to Anatoly Lyadnov, who is known as Clown Tolyan - on the 29th of October he visited our department again. He invited a few young actors of Circus studio, a juggler and two acrobats! Young actors tried their best to be professionals. We are waiting for your next visit impatiently! Children adore you, Tolyan! We are always glad to see! Come to see us and bring your friends!

* * *

On the 21th of October Church Mission Society with the help of its regional manager, Reverend Mark Oxbrow transferred us a grant of $1 600 for the medical support of our children. For these purposes namely we distributed all the received money:

- 900 $ - were sent for the operation of bone marrow transplantation for Sergy Borovik;

- 500 $ - for purchasing disinfectants, which are crucial for keeping save the children with deep leucopenia;

- 200 $ - for therapy and rehabilitation of children with acute leucemia: Volodya Hachaturyan, Alesha Zharov and Daniil Novitsky.

* * *

WE OBTAINED THE HELP! On the 27th of September our department was visited by the representatives of Pan-American mission "Least of These". The mission has its headquarters in Florida. The headquarters is a kind of coordinator, all mission divisions are rather autonomous and operate in all states. Among the guests of the department there was Tom Benz, Daniel Alway and Lou Gouzleth. They donated the "Parents' Initiative" two and a half thousand dollars for a special purpose - purchase of medications. This sum was gathered by the members of the mission. The guests offered to keep contact and promised to help with medications if it will be possible, or finances for their purchasing. But the main aspect was their promise to help with contacts with similar organizations in the USA. Thank you. Thanks to all people who gathered the money for our children. Let the Lord bless all your deeds!

* * *

WE BOW LOW to Ann from Moscow. She knew from Internet about Kate Kuznetsova, and sent by the train very expensive antibiotics: 25 bottles of Tienam and 12 of Diflucan. She also sent a present for Kate - a funny soft toy, a pretty dolphin and kind, good letter. Ann often called to the hospital and got the information about Kate state of health. More than that, Ann forwarded our letter with request about support and help to many Russian and Ukrainian banks (with negative result, alas). Church Mission Society in the end of the previous year informed us about transfer of 1000 pounds for treatment of our children. But it took half a year to overcome all obstacles and to receive the money. This sum lets us to "mend" the hole in the treatment. The next problem coming after lack of sets for thrombocytes transfusion are systems for infusion pomps "IVAC". Such systems are used on the first stage of leucemia therapy for cleaning the organism of the child. The medical dropper must function during seven days without any stop. The solutions and hormones must be supplied in even doses. First hundred of the systems (the amount enough for 5-6 month of work) have been already bought in the USA, and were delivered to the department. 50 bottles of Cytozar (chemomedication, one of the basic means of lymphoma treatment) were purchased. At lastXenia Rupcheva was supplied by necessary antibiotics.
THANK YOU, BROTHERS AND SISTERS!
