When Serezha was born, he weighed only 1 kg 900 g. So his first fight for survival started. And he succeeded.

By the time he turned one year, he was just like other children of his age. He grew up a merry, lively, bright boy. He was interested in gymnastics, swimming, wrestling.

His favorite hobby was motorcycles. In June 2003, his grandpa bought him a very old Minsk motorbike in an awful condition, not suitable for riding at all. Grandpa hoped that Serezha would spent nearly half of that summer in the garage trying to put this thing together (grandpa lives in a village, and Serezha spends his summers there together with his big brother). But imagine everybody's astonishment when two days passed and Serezha left the garage riding the repaired motorbike! He did it!

At the end of August 2003, Serezha was suddenly taken to hospital by ambulance. The diagnosis was acute gastritis, although the doctors could not understand the reason for it. And on January 30, 2004, he got into hospital once more, again with a pain spasm. This time the diagnosis was terrible: cancer.

The doctors in Dnepropetrovsk told us that our chances were about 2%. Then we went to Kiev. Serezha spent 10 months at the Institute of Oncology, with six blocks of chemotherapy and two operations...

Then ten months more... Quiet life at home. Routine examinations in Kiev showed that we could hope for the best. But a relapse was found in the autumn of 2005. It turned out that my son had a tumor behind his liver and two affected sites near the right kidney.
 

Sergei and his mother Irina are already in Russia. The boy has been admitted to a hospital, and the therapy has started. But the family cannot raise the whole required sum. And Sergei's life now depends on it...
